Oat meal has been around since the Christian Era and first used for medicinal purposes. It wasn’t until much later that it was cultivated as a crop. Oats started out as an Asiatic plant and then was transplanted to the US. Today, Oats are the third most important grain crop in the United States.

The green leaves and stem have been used for anxiety, weakened bladder and connective tissue, connective tissue deficiencies, gout, kidney ailments, opium and tobacco withdrawal treatments, rheumatism, skin diseases, sleeplessness and stress.

Homeopathiclly it has been used for exhaustion and insomnia.

The grain or fruit has been used for gastrointestinal tract disorders, gallbladder and kidneys, for cardiovascular disorders, constipation, diabetes, diarrhea, physical fatigue and rheumatism.

Clinical trials have also shown that the soluble fiber in Oat products reduce the risk for diabetes and heart disease 15 to 20%.

A blind study also suggested that oats may help smokers cut down their cigarette use.

Oats may have antidepressant properties, act as a restorative nerve tonic and promote sweating. It may good for bed-wetting, depression and skin disorders and may help comfort insomnia.

The soluble fiber in oats works by activating the immune cells known as macrophages. Macrophages trap and consume foreign substances that do not belong in the body.

In fact soluble oat fiber has been shown to be extremely effective in helping to control autoimmune conditions such as Arthritis, Diabetes, Psoriasis etc.

Cancer patients have reported that their cancerous tumors have shrunk after taking soluble oat fiber extracts.

Soluble Oat fiber accurately recognizes and destroys foreign invaders like viruses, bacteria, fungi, etc. which cause infection and disease.

Soluble Oat fiber may give protection from radiation encountered during airline travel, X-rays, mammograms, from high tension power lines, proximity to nuclear facilities, computer terminals and UV rays from the sun.

Soluble Oat fiber may offer quicker recovery from injuries and illnesses. You may even discover that you get sick less often.

Soluble Oat fiber may enhance the effectiveness of many vitamin supplements plus pharmaceutical drugs such as antibiotics, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic medications.

Oat Bran may impair absorption and the effectiveness of certain cholesterol inhibiting drugs, so you’ll need to take your medications either before or after you eat your bowl of oatmeal by 2 hours.

There are no known health hazards or side effects in conjunction with the proper dosages of Oats. Oats may pose a risk to the individual who is hypersensitive to Oat gluten

Because oatmeal is more satisfying and filling, eating oatmeal in the morning for breakfast may help you lose weight and think more clearly throughout the day.
